Tasting Notes

2XO Gem of Kentucky is Dixon Dedman's double-barreled, single barrel bourbon. Selected from high-rye mash bills, each barrel gets a secondary maturation for added depth. Barrel #48 delivers a rich nose of nutmeg, citrus, and sweet oak. The palate brings caramel, spice, and a touch of pepper, though it drinks a bit hot. It finishes with cinnamon, toffee, and leather. While complex and enjoyable, the price point might raise an eyebrow, but the uniqueness of each barrel makes it worth exploring.
