Alfred Giraud
Tasting Notes
Alfred Giraud's Harmonie is a harmonious blend of three unpeated French malt whiskies and a lightly peated fourth malt, creating a symphony of flavors. The aging process is intricate, involving both new French Limousin oak and American white oak casks that previously held XO Cognac, imparting a distinct nutty influence. After initial maturation, the blend is further aged in the Cognac casks, allowing the flavors to meld seamlessly. Upon nosing, you're greeted with a hint of aromatic peat smoke intertwined with the delicate notes of apple blossom, baklava, and toasty oak. The palate unfolds with tangy apple sweeties, silky peat smoke, and plums, followed by the comforting flavors of apple pie and sultana. The finish lingers with tannic wood, a whisper of smoke, and a subtle nutty Cognac influence, leaving a lasting impression on the senses. Bottled at 46.1% ABV, this whisky is a masterful blend that pays homage to the art of French whisky-making.
