The first, bottled in 2001 for their Connoisseurs Choice series at 40% ABV, represents the classic house style of Gordon & MacPhail's carefully curated range. The second release stands as an even rarer treasure - a special selection dark sherry cask bottling created exclusively for High Spirits s.r.l. in Rimini, Italy. Distilled in September 1990 and matured for 12 years in a single exceptional sherry cask, this exceptional whisky was bottled in January 2003 at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added coloring. Limited to just 312 individually numbered bottles, this special selection showcases the magnificent marriage between Ardbeg's robust spirit and rich sherry cask maturation, creating a unique collector's item that captures a distinctive moment in the distillery's history. Each bottle bears a distinctive white label adorned with red and black printing and the distillery's image, making it not only a remarkable dram but also a coveted piece of whisky heritage.
