Ardbeg Kelpie
Ardbeg
Tasting Notes
This Ardbeg Kelpie is a true embodiment of the ocean's depths. The nose delights with an intricate dance of powerful, oily peat, dark chocolate, smoked fish, and a curious, sharp herbal note, hinting at the mysteries beneath the waves. The palate unleashes a crescendo of rich flavors โ treacle toffee, Turkish coffee, smoky bacon, and waves of dark, dark chocolate, punctuated by a burst of peachy fruit, hickory wood, clove oil, and a suggestion of black olives. The finish seems to linger forever, revealing deep, subterranean flavors of clove, tar, and rich toffee, echoing the whisky's maturation in virgin Black Sea oak casks from the Adyghe Republic in Russia. As deep and mischievous as the kelpie water spirit it's named after, this Ardbeg captivates with its complexity and depth.
