Here goes, a unique description of the Arran Malt Millennium Casks Edition 2013 whisky: As the world celebrated the dawn of the new millennium, the skilled distillers at Arran were busy capturing that momentous occasion in liquid form. They carefully filled 35 bourbon barrels and 10 sherry casks with their precious spirit on December 31st, 1999, and January 1st, 2000. These casks were then set aside to patiently mature, allowing the whisky to absorb the rich flavors and aromas imparted by the oak over time. The result is a limited edition release of 7,800 bottles, each one adorned with the image of Janus, the Roman God of beginnings and endings – a fitting symbol for a whisky that marks the transition from one era to the next.
