Bladnoch 16 Year Old - Sheep Label
Bladnoch
Tasting Notes
Imagine a rustic farmhouse nestled in the rolling hills of Scotland, where the aroma of freshly baked treats wafts through the air. That's the essence of the Bladnoch 16 Year Old - Sheep Label. This single malt whisky invites you on a journey through a tapestry of flavors. The nose greets you with a delightful blend of Oloroso sherry, raisins, and a hint of rum spice, complemented by a subtle whiff of sulphur that adds depth rather than offense. Toffee apples and coriander seeds tantalize the senses. On the palate, liquorice and over-cooked flapjack mingle with sweet, dark fruit notes, creating a delightful harmony. The finish lingers with the warmth of over-baked bakery treats, maderized wine, and a comforting bowl of porridge adorned with apple and currants. Distilled on the 15th of July 1992 and bottled on the 11th of September 2008, this 16-year-old single cask bottling from the Bladnoch distillery was matured in sherry cask No. 2610 and hand-bottled and labeled at the distillery, bearing the iconic sheep label.
