Early Days - Batch 002 is a fascinating blend of peated and unpeated Swedish single malt whiskies. The peated component is crafted using Scottish peat, adding a distinctive smoky character, while the unpeated malt brings a crisp, clean profile to the mix. Bothmalts are made from Pilsner barley, lending a subtle grainy sweetness. The whiskies were matured for over four and a half years in ex-bourbon casks, allowing them to absorb the rich, vanilla-infused oak notes. The result is a harmonious interplay of smoke, malt, and oak, creating a complex yet approachable dram. Bottled in March 2016, this batch offers a unique glimpse into the emerging Swedish whisky scene, combining traditional techniques with innovative approaches to produce a truly captivating spirit.
