Tasting Notes
This 14-year-old Bruichladdich single malt whisky boasts a delightful fruity nose, reminiscent of a fresh fruit salad with hints of honeydew melon, wild strawberries, and tropical fruits, all complemented by a gentle oak undertone. On the palate, it's bursting with fruity flavors, complimented by notes of aniseed, toffee, and Seville marmalade, while a touch of peppery spice and bruised pear add depth and complexity. The finish is soft yet lingering, allowing the fruity notes to linger pleasantly. Interestingly, this expression is named after a yellow submarine discovered near the distillery, remnants of World War Two mine-clearing efforts, adding a unique backstory to this already captivating dram.
