Clynelish 10 Year Old 1996 - Provenance (Douglas Laing)
Clynelish
Tasting Notes
Taking a sip of the Clynelish 10 Year Old 1996 - Provenance is like embarking on a journey through the rugged Scottish Highlands. This whisky, distilled in the autumn of 1996 at the renowned Clynelish distillery, spent a decade maturing in two refill hogsheads (numbers 3116 and 3117) before being bottled in 2006 as part of the Provenance range. The extended aging process has imbued this spirit with a rich complexity that tantalizes the senses. Notes of briny sea air and gentle peat smoke intertwine with hints of citrus and honey, creating a harmonious and distinctly coastal character. The mouthfeel is velvety and lingering, leaving a lasting impression of the wind-swept landscapes and centuries-old craftsmanship that went into its making.
