Tasting Notes
Colonel E.H. Taylor Cured Oak is a bourbon that truly embodies its legendary namesake's dedication to quality. What sets this limited release apart is its unique aging in barrels crafted from staves cured for a remarkable 13 months, unlocking extraordinary depth from the wood. On the nose, it's an inviting blend of sweet brown sugar, bright cherry, and vanilla, joined by warm cinnamon and a touch of robust oak and walnut. The palate delivers a buttery texture, with a medium body carrying notes of maraschino cherry, vanilla, and pear, balanced by nutty walnut and subtle spice. Despite its age, it feels lively, never over-oaked, maintaining a beautiful harmony of sweet, fruity, and earthy characteristics. A complex and rewarding pour, showcasing a unique barrel influence.
