Cortoisie's Exhalation whisky beckons with an aromatic fusion of nostalgia and intrigue. The initial nosing unveils a medley of ripe plums, crisp apples, and a delicate wisp of smoke, reminiscent of autumn evenings by the fireside. As it graces the palate, a delightful sweetness from the malt unfolds, accompanied by notes of cooked red fruit and a subtle hint of salinity that harmonizes beautifully with the smoky undercurrent and baking spices. The finish lingers with a crackle of black pepper and a smoky cigar box essence, leaving a lasting impression on the senses. This unique French single malt, distilled in Lorraine, derives its captivating peat influence from Germany, while the majority of the whisky matures in French oak casks, with a third employing new oak for added complexity.
