Tasting Notes

Craigellachie 23 Year Old whisky greets the nose with a vibrant burst of citrus – lemon, orange, and pineapple – dancing alongside warm oak and golden barley notes. As the aroma evolves, the oak becomes toastier, inviting you to take a sip. On the palate, salted caramel and creamy vanilla embrace the orange zest, while cinnamon, nutmeg, and a subtle whiff of sulphur add depth to the rich flavors. The sulphur lingers on the finish, but it's beautifully balanced by the sweet spices, creating a long and harmonious conclusion. This bold and complex whisky, one of four official Craigellachie bottlings released in 2014 after a long hiatus, showcases the distillery's mastery in crafting refined yet robust drams, where bold fruit, herbs, oak, and a touch of sulphur intertwine in a captivating symphony of flavors.
