Tasting Notes

The 2008 Summer Batch Release from Daftmill is a delightful Lowland single malt that tantalizes the senses. On the nose, it beckons with a fragrant bouquet of ripe peaches, waves of golden honey, freshly cut grass, and the irresistible aroma of lemon meringue pie, all complemented by the delightful whiff of Sesame Snaps. The palate is a delightful dance of flavors, with barley sugar sweets taking center stage, accompanied by a whisper of black pepper, lingering grassy notes, and a tangy burst of tropical fruits. The finish is a harmonious blend of maple syrup drizzled over fluffy pancakes, the nuttiness of almonds, and the zesty zing of clementines. Crafted from optic barley and aged in six first-fill ex-bourbon barrels filled in the summer of 2008, this 46% ABV expression is a true celebration of the Lowland region's whisky-making heritage, bottled in 2019 with just 1,760 bottles to savor.
