Daniel Weller - Emmer Wheat Recipe
Buffalo Trace
Tasting Notes
Daniel Weller - Emmer Wheat Recipe is a unique and intriguing whiskey from Buffalo Trace's new series that delves into variations of the iconic W.L. Weller's wheated mash bill. This expression embraces the ancient origins of wheat cultivation by incorporating emmer wheat, the original cultivated wheat grain. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, it was distilled in the E.H. Taylor, Jr. Microstill, a specialized combination of pot and column stills designed by Wheatley himself for experimental purposes. After undergoing around 12 years of patient aging, the whiskey was bottled at a comfortable 47% ABV, allowing its complex flavors to shine through. With its pioneering use of emmer wheat and its connection to distilling history, this whiskey promises a truly unique and educational tasting experience for adventurous whiskey enthusiasts.
