Doc Swinson's Alter Ego Straight Rye Rum Solera is a unique American whiskey. It starts with MGP rye, a blend of high and low rye mashbills, aged over five years. Then, it enters a solera system of ex-bourbon casks previously used to age rum from Trinidad, Venezuela, and Jamaica. This creates a layered profile: light oak, caramel, and fig meet poached pears with cinnamon and a hint of anise. The result is a spicy rye balanced by tropical fruit notes, like a Caribbean spice cake in liquid form. Bottled at 95 proof, it's a complex, award-winning rye that offers something different.
