Eifel 2021 German Single Malt is no ordinary whisky! This 8-year-old expression, bottled at 46% ABV, comes from a small German distillery with a minimalist approach. It's matured in ex-Bordeaux American oak before a stint in 1st and 2nd fill cream sherry casks. Expect a complex flavor profile which includes malt and cereal notes, with a wallop of springtime florals, red fruits, sherry notes and subtle smokiness. The palate is caramel-forward with black pepper toffee, orchard fruits and fruitwood with a tannic backbone evolving to pleasant astringency balanced with sherry influence. The finish is sweet and lingering with caramel apples, vanilla and black pepper. It's a unique and rewarding dram that showcases the quality of German whisky.
