Tasting Notes

This unpeated single malt whisky from Glasgow 1770 offers an intriguing fusion of flavors. The nose is a delightful medley of rich tropical fruits like oranges and dried apricots, coupled with soft toffee notes and a hint of floral jasmine. On the palate, it delivers a robust burst of tropical fruit flavors, accompanied by a delicate floral honeyed sweetness, mango, pineapple, and a touch of orange peel. The spice notes of nutmeg and cinnamon add a lovely complexity. The finish is marked by a slight salinity, ripe fruit influence, creamy cashew nuts, and a lingering soft peppery spice. This whisky's unique character stems from its maturation journey – initially aged in first-fill bourbon casks for at least three years and four months, followed by a further three years and six months in Hungarian Tokaji wine casks, imparting its distinctive flavors.
