GlenAllachie's 11 Year Old Marsala Wood Finish is a delightful symphony of flavors that will captivate your senses. The aroma sets the stage with floral malt, orchard blossoms, and luscious runny honey, leading into notes of cooked stone fruits, candied nuts, and vanilla. On the palate, creamy layers of apricot and peach take center stage, accompanied by cinder toffee and roasted pecans, while soft spices and burnt sugar linger subtly beneath. The finish is a delightful surprise, with a touch of anise making an appearance, complemented by butterscotch, creamy vanilla, and more roasted nuts. This superb single malt whisky spent over eight years maturing in bourbon barrels before being finished for around 42 months in Sicilian marsala wine casks, imparting decadent layers of sweet fruit and honeycomb to the nutty malt at its core.
