This 40-year-old Glenfiddich whisky is a true masterpiece, crafted with an extraordinary technique called remnant vatting. Each release is a harmonious blend, carrying forward the essence of past expressions, allowing layers of flavor to accumulate over four decades. The nose unveils a complex tapestry of dried fruits, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and ripe black cherries, subtly intertwined with gentle wood smoke, polished leather, and cloves. On the palate, it's luxuriously silky, unfolding from deep dried fruit notes to rich fruitcake, dates, raisins, and stewed apples, before transitioning to dry oaky tones with hints of bitter chocolate and peat. The finish is an exquisite crescendo, complex and memorable, lingering endlessly. Each bottle is presented in a handmade jesmonite box, ensuring its uniqueness and inability to be replicated, making it a true collector's treasure.
