Kempisch Vuur 3 Year Old Single Cask
Kempisch Vuur
Tasting Notes
This Belgian single malt whisky from Kempisch Vuur (translating to "Campian Fire") offers an intriguing blend of flavors and aromas. On the nose, it tantalizes with notes of fresh white fruits, hay, and rich buttery caramel, complemented by subtle hints of smokiness and a touch of plasticine. The palate is full-bodied and slightly oily, with an unmistakable presence of peat and a pinch of rock salt. Earthy, muddy notes intertwine with the tanginess of cooking apples, further enlivened by warming cinnamon spice. The finish is a harmonious interplay of sweet and smoky notes, with the spice lingering pleasantly. Despite its young age of three years, this quarter-cask-matured whisky, which previously held Laphroaig, boasts a remarkable depth and complexity that belies its youth.
