St. Magdalene
Tasting Notes
This Lowland single malt, distilled at the St Magdalene distillery on October 5th, 1982, spent an impressive 26 years maturing in a wine-treated butt before bottling in 2009 by Signatory Vintage. With a limited release of only 225 bottles at cask strength, it presents a captivating array of aromas and flavors. The nose reveals a delightful blend of vanilla sweetness, fruity notes of lemon, walnut richness, creamy undertones, mixed spices, and a hint of pine oil. On the palate, nuttiness takes center stage, accompanied by almond oil, tart berry hints, a peppery kick, and underlying maltiness. The finish is medium-bodied, leaving a bittersweet impression with cut herbs and lingering toffee notes, ensuring a memorable experience with each sip.
