Loch Lomond
Tasting Notes
Loch Lomond 50 Year Old is a remarkable Highland single malt whisky that showcases the art of patient maturation and the distillery's distinctive approach. Distilled on May 29, 1973, using the distillery's unique straight-neck pot stills, this whisky spent over four decades resting in American oak casks. In 2017, it was transferred to fresh bourbon casks for an additional six years, before finally being re-casked into oloroso sherry casks. This extended journey through various cask types has imparted a rich complexity and depth of flavor to the liquid. The straight-neck stills, found only at Loch Lomond, contribute a distinct character, making this whisky a true reflection of the distillery's heritage and craftsmanship. With each sip, one can savor the nuances of age and the harmonious blending of oak, bourbon, and sherry influences, creating a truly exceptional Highland single malt experience.
