Lochlea's Our Barley is a delightful single malt that tantalizes the senses with its alluring aromas and flavors. On the nose, it's a delightful medley of sweet, juicy fruits, a drizzle of honey, and sugared orange peel, complemented by soft grassy malt notes. The palate is a delightful surprise, with buttered soda bread, crushed almonds, and tinned peaches with chantilly cream, followed by a gentle build of peppery barley prickles. As the whisky lingers, it reveals a touch of maple syrup and nutty, toasted oak, while creamy layers of vanilla soften the spice, creating a harmonious finish. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, as well as shaved, toasted and re-charred barriques, this whisky showcases the young Lowlands-based Lochlea distillery's promising future, offering a vibrant and captivating experience in every sip.
