This Islay single malt from Mac-Talla is a delightful harmony of island elements, skillfully crafted to transport your senses to the rugged shores and fragrant meadows of its origin. The nose greets you with a captivating blend of ripe stone fruits and orchard blossoms, intertwined with woody spices and faint whispers of peat smoke. On the palate, delicate layers unfold, revealing butterscotch notes that gracefully support the elegant heather, smoked almonds, and subtle peat smoke. As the whisky lingers, the finish delivers a satisfying embrace of roasted nuts, oaken vanilla, delicate smoke, and charred oak. Expertly matured, with 70% of the whisky resting in a combination of PX and oloroso sherry casks, imparting rich fruit and spice notes to the gently peated malt, while the remaining 30% aged in bourbon barrels, providing a balanced touch of floral vanilla.
