Mortlach 26 Year Old (Special Release 2019) is a captivating expression that transports you to an antique shop, enveloping you with aromas of rich leather, polished wood, and furniture polish. Complementing these notes are enticing scents of walnuts, cooked peaches, dried apricots, and dates. As you add water, the whisky unveils aromatic nuances of tobacco and a harmonious blend of cooked and fresh apple notes. On the palate, it boasts a full, creamy texture, almost oily, where savory notes of leather and tobacco intertwine with sweeter flavors of fudge, chocolate, and vanilla, accompanied by a touch of wood tannin and dark cherry fruit. The addition of water tames the beast slightly, highlighting the fruity and sweeter elements.
