This Octomore Masterclass_08.4 8 Year Old is a bold and smoky whisky that demands attention. The nose is a stunning blend of heavy oak char, muddy phenolic notes, and sweet honeyed malt and toffee fudge, with a sprinkling of black pepper cutting through the floral vanilla and sweet popcorn aromas. On the palate, the peat is thick but not overwhelming, complemented by sweet mellow oak, syrupy pear, and prickles of clove. As you savor it, stewed apple emerges, mingling with beaten leather, coconut, and burnt heather. The finish is equally captivating, with stewed apple and coffee grounds lingering as the charred oak and thick ash dissipate.
