Redwood Empire's Foggy Burl Single Malt is a unique experiment, a small-lot release pushing the boundaries of American single malt. This 94-proof whiskey, made with 100% malted barley, pours a rich 24K gold. The aroma is of brandied cherries, port, and a hint of cashew and chamomile. The palate is a decadent brownie sundae with a touch of forest floor and molasses. The finish is warm and rich, with notes of pepper, oak, and a savory earthiness. It's a delicious whiskey, but I wish it was bottled at a higher proof to enhance the flavors.
