Tasting Notes
This whiskey is a special collaboration blending together two distinct bourbons: a high-rye one known for spice and Ironroot's unique bourbon made from heirloom corn. What makes it stand out is the extra time it spent resting in two different types of barrels – first port casks, which bring out lovely juicy fruit notes, and then cognac casks, adding a smooth, lingering finish. Bottled at a sturdy 100 proof and left unfiltered and natural, you get a genuine taste experience. Think of it as a cool mix where the classic bourbon spice meets sweet dark fruits, maybe some plum or cherry, with hints of chocolate and a touch of warmth from those special finishing barrels. It’s a well-balanced pour where the cask influence complements the base whiskey rather than overpowering it.
