Tasting Notes

This 14-year-old single malt from Scapa was a transitional offering from the new owners, Chivas Brothers. It replaced the previous 12-year-old expression, aiming to elevate the brand with an extended aging period. However, its shelf life was relatively brief, as it was subsequently discontinued in 2008 when the 16-year-old bottling took its place. During its short-lived tenure, this 14-year-old whisky offered a glimpse into the distillery's character, showcasing the subtle and delicate flavors that Scapa is known for. Despite its limited availability, it served as a stepping stone, paving the way for the more enduring 16-year-old expression that continues to represent the distillery's commitment to quality and maturation.
