Shortcross Rye & Malt Irish Whiskey is a delightful symphony of flavors, crafted with passion and expertise by the family-owned Rademon Estate Distillery in County Down. This exceptional spirit is created from a harmonious blend of 100% Irish malted rye and malted barley, meticulously double distilled and aged to perfection. The aging process takes place in virgin Chinkapin oak and ex-bourbon barrels, imparting a rich and complex character. Upon pouring, the whiskey unveils an alluring aroma of orange chocolate, coffee fudge, dried apricots, vanilla, and toasted almonds, teasing the senses with sweet baking spices. The palate is greeted with a burst of homemade marmalade on brown bread, vibrant and bursting with citrusy notes reminiscent of orange peel. Dark honey, aromatic ginger, and a hint of green apple sharpness add depth and complexity. The finish is soft and supple, lingering with creamy fudge and orangey goodness.
