Tasting Notes
Hailing from the renowned Armagnac region in France, Tchankat Classic whisky offers a delightful fusion of traditional French craftsmanship and American bourbon-style distilling. Crafted with an 80% corn mashbill, complemented by barley and rye, this whisky undergoes a meticulous five-day brewing and fermentation process before being distilled in the iconic Charentais stills, traditionally used for Armagnac production. The aging process takes place in re-toasted wine barrels from the prestigious Château Gruaud Larose, imparting a unique depth of flavors. On the nose, one is greeted with enticing aromas of poached pears, red berries, vanilla, coconut, and baking spices. The palate unveils a harmonious blend of espresso, nutmeg, roasted nuts, vanilla, and toffee apples. The finish lingers with notes of dark chocolate and stewed fruits, leaving a lasting impression on the senses. Aptly named after the traditional tchanqué shepherds, this whisky pays homage to the region's rich heritage while offering a truly distinctive and captivating experience.
