This Irish whiskey is a delightful fusion of flavors, born from a collaboration between Teeling Distillery and Plantation Rum. Initially matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Central American rum casks, it underwent a further 12-month maturation in casks that previously held Plantation Pineapple Stiggins' Fancy rum. Immediately, the nose bursts with fruity notes of crushed pineapple and citrus, melding seamlessly with floral vanilla and syrupy sponge cake aromas. On the palate, a harmonious dance unfolds between meaty malt, creamy grain, sweet vanilla, fresh stone fruits, and a hint of herbal grist, accompanied by earthy charred oak and tangy caramelized pineapples. The finish is a delightful interplay of bittersweet citrus, cracked pepper, aromatic oak, burnt sugar, juicy pineapple, and earthen vanilla pod lingering amidst the spice. This uniquely tropical and tremendously sippable expression is a true testament to the magic that can happen when two epic spirits collide.
