Imagine sitting by a crackling campfire, the scent of burnt embers and smoldering woodfire mingling with the aroma of freshly baked spiced goods and the sweetness of cooked orchard fruits. As you take your first sip, you're enveloped in a harmonious blend of hefty peat smoke and rich chocolatey malt, complemented by the delightful taste of gingersnap biscuits and a touch of treacle, before a peppery heat kicks in. The finish lingers with warming layers of ashen oak and earthy peat, accompanied by the crackles of candied ginger and smoked almonds. This ten-year-old Highland single malt, bottled by the Stirling Distillery for its Sons of Scotland series, spent a decade resting in a single hogshead cask between 2011 and 2021, resulting in a limited outturn of just 275 bottles.
