This 33-year-old whisky from the former Willowbank distillery in New Zealand is a true gem. As it opens up, the scent evolves, unveiling bourbon vanilla, pecan, and sage. On the palate, it delivers a lively and tangy experience, initially reminiscent of grapefruit zest, before unfolding into a rich, spicy symphony of Normandy tart, star anise, ginger, and honeyed beeswax. Despite its age, the whisky showcases a youthful spirit with fruity undertones of marmalade and quince jelly.
