The Oxford Artisan Distillery Heritage Corn Whisky - Grain Stories
The Oxford Artisan Distillery
Tasting Notes
Crafted by The Oxford Artisan Distillery, this Heritage Corn Whisky is a true celebration of grains. At its heart lies a blend of 51% corn, comprising a vibrant mix of multicolored flint corn and sweet corn varieties meticulously curated by the distillery's grain expert, John Letts. Complementing the corn is a harmonious fusion of 34% rye, 10% wheat, and 5% malted barley, creating a complex and intriguing flavor profile. Aged in new American oak casks, this whisky unveils a captivating bouquet of buttery shortbread, warm spices like cassia and cinnamon, baked apples, and a delicate hint of floral spring breeze. On the palate, it tantalizes the senses with notes of banana fritters, freshly cut grass, buttered bread, gingerbread, and salted peanuts. The finish lingers with the delightful touches of allspice and vanilla, leaving a lasting impression. Bottled at 50.4% ABV, this expression is a testament to the distillery's commitment to celebrating the diverse flavors of grains.
