Tasting Notes
Tomintoul 40 Year Old Quadruple Cask is a masterpiece that invites you on a delightful journey through time. Aged for four decades, this exceptional single malt whisky unveils a delicate and mature nose, where mixed fruits dance gracefully with the gentle barley-sweet malt, accompanied by buttery and creamy notes, and a hint of inviting pineapple. On the palate, subtlety and exquisite complexity intertwine as summer fruits and buttery toffee mingle harmoniously with refined notes of coffee, liquorice, and lemon sherbet. The finish is a gentle embrace of oak-spice swirling with sweet liquorice, leaving a lasting impression. Crafted by master distiller Robert Fleming, who carefully selected just four casks filled in 1974 from the Tomintoul warehouse, this charming expression was released in 500 decanters, presented at cask strength without any chill-filtration, and adorned with a substantial stopper, adding to its allure.
