Tasting Notes
Westland American Single Malt is a symphony of flavors crafted by the Seattle-based distillery. The nose greets you with a delightful blend of creamy custard pastries, juicy blackberries, candied nuts, and a hint of burnt biscuits, all wrapped in a nougat-like aroma. As you sip, your taste buds are treated to a toasted vanilla and caramelized sugar dance, accompanied by charred marshmallows and a buttery butterscotch note. Floral hints of baklava linger, adding a touch of elegance. The finish is a delightful surprise, with earthy tea notes joining the party, complemented by the familiar taste of Maltesers and more buttery, toasted oak. This single malt whiskey is a true masterpiece, carefully crafted from a grain bill of Washington Select Pale Malt, Munich Malt, Extra Special Malt, Pale Chocolate Malt, Brown Malt, and Bairds Heavily Peated Malt, and matured for at least 40 months in a selection of new and used American oak casks, first-fill bourbon barrels, and first and second-fill oloroso sherry hogsheads and butts.
