Widow Jane's Baby Jane is a blend, partly distilled in Brooklyn using their own heirloom "Baby Jane" corn and Kentucky sourced bourbon. At 91 proof, it's an easy-sipper with a light gold hue. The nose hints at summer fruits and honey, leading into a palate of honey, caramel, and dried apricot. Allspice adds a touch of spice on the finish, along with apricot and oak. It's a pleasant, well-balanced bourbon, and while the heirloom corn adds a unique touch, the sourced whiskey mutes the overall impact of it. Still, it's a promising first step for Widow Jane's own distillate.
