Taking its robust, lightly peated house style as a canvas, White Peak distillery paints a vivid portrait of indulgence with this Amarone Wine cask-finished single malt. Initially aged in bourbon barrels, the spirit is then treated to a 16-month sojourn in fresh Amarone wine barriques, allowing it to soak up the rich, fruity essence of this prestigious northern Italian red. The result is a harmonious medley of decadent aromas and flavors – dark cassis and cocoa on the nose, followed by juicy dark cherries, sultry sultanas, tangy berries, and warming spices like cinnamon and anise on the palate. The grand finale is a lingering embrace of dark fruit-studded chocolate, gummy fruit sweeties, mocha, and a subtle char from the oak, leaving a delightfully indulgent impression that lingers long after the final sip.
