This inaugural release from Derby's White Peak Distillery showcases the craftsmanship of the Wire Works Single Malt. Crafted from a harmonious blend of unpeated and peated malt, it unveils a captivating aroma reminiscent of chocolate-coated toffee, vanilla, caramel, and candied citrus notes. The palate awakens with a burst of dark chocolate, hints of pepper and chilli, complemented by roasted malt, orchard fruits, and a delightful toffee apple richness. As the flavors linger, notes of black forest gateaux, butterscotch, cigar box, and sandalwood emerge, leaving a wisp of smoke in its wake. The finish is remarkably long, with a delightful fusion of café mocha, chilli chocolate, and liquorice, subtly hinting at peat. This remarkable whisky, a testament to the Wire Works' dedication, is a true embodiment of Derby's distilling prowess.
