Wolfburn Poppy Scotland
Wolfburn
Tasting Notes
Wolfburn Poppy Scotland whisky beckons with an enchanting aroma of sweet vanilla oak intertwined with delicate floral heather notes, unveiling hints of stone fruits and chocolate-coated nuts. The palate unfurls a velvety tapestry of lingering vanilla, crumbly fudge, and a festive touch of sherried spice, where candied orange and dried fruits entwine with nutty malts. The finish caresses the senses with silky honey, floral fruit nuances, and a warm embrace of caramel, while bold barley and oak char leave a spicy trail. This special release commemorates 100 years of the Poppy Appeal, matured in a harmonious blend of second-fill Islay whisky casks and first-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads, offering a fruity, floral profile beautifully balanced with spice and chocolate undertones. With 1,921 bottles produced, Wolfburn will donate £5 from every purchase to Poppyscotland, raising a total of £9,605.
